After registration by the National Council of Professional Surveyors in 1992, Capital Shelterworks offered valuation consultancy services to reputable international and local firms, government, parastatals and individuals.
Valuation experience
The company has been involved in World Bank-funded projects in Tanzania through the Prime Minister's Office, including the Phase One Dar es Salaam City Rating Project and production of the Kinondoni Rating Roll in 1993.
International engagements have included work with Arkel Sugar Inc. in connection with an African Development Bank-funded pre-investment study for the valuation of Kagera Sugar Limited, as well as valuation and estate agency services for USAID properties in Tanzania.
Between 1993 and 2004, the company carried out numerous valuation consultancy assignments for the Presidential Parastatal Sector Reform Commission (PSRC), including valuation of agricultural and industrial subsectors involved in economic reforms.
Agricultural and land delivery experience
Capital Shelterworks was entrusted by PSRC to support the survey, title processing and transfer of assets associated with the Tanzania Tobacco Board. The assignment involved assets distributed across tobacco-growing regions and required surveys, title processing and transfer to Tanzania Leaf Tobacco Co. Ltd.
The company's experience also includes agricultural valuations, best-use planning and boundary recovery work for large-scale farms.
Selected land assignments
- Mass transfer of titles for ex-Tanzania Tobacco Board assets through PSRC — more than 250 titles.
- Boundary recoveries for large-scale agricultural organisations including DAFCO and NAFCO farms.
- Land delivery and title preparation assignments involving complex and geographically dispersed assets.
